Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Full Operations Manager functions.

  • Making sure all Inbounds and Outbounds are done and completed and all procedures were followed correctly, all drivers are scanned out and all routes went out.
  • Making sure no old freight is lying on the floor.
  • Collections, Discrepancy, Non-Delivery, Pre-Alerts, Pending/Problem Feight & Floor Scan Reports to Branch Manager.
  • Ensuring HFC (Hold for Collection) freight is correctly assigned and packed ready for collection by clients and that all HFC freight was collected by close of shift.
  • Making sure that collections staff booked and allocated all collections on system, and assigned to drivers.
  • Client communication – Internal & External.
  • Resolving Queries. Provide feedback on Collections, Pending / Problem Freight to clients.
  • Assisting and liaising with Key accounts and Customers regarding undelivered freight. – Full RTS procedures.
  • Assisting with the De-briefing of drivers and making sure that De-briefing of drivers was done correctly by Ops – Waybill check – In procedures followed
  • Confirm with Collections/Ops staff that all Collections for the day were received and captured on system by end of shift.
  • In Transit between Hubs, Late Lodge Clients and Outstanding POD (Undebriefed Screen) Reports to Branch Manager via E-Mail before end of shift daily.
  • Outbounds needs to be done and completed. All procedures to be followed correctly
  • Ensure Linehaul leaves on time.
  • Assisting with outstanding POD lists and Data Capturing when required to ensure Daily clearing out of system for Billing & Month End Closing.
  • Ad-hoc duties as and when necessary.
  • Hours will be 6am to 6pm.Mo-Fr and every Alternate Saturday from 6h00am to 11h00am as well as Month-end Weekends as per company operational requirement.

The ideal candidate should have the following Personal Attributes:

  • Professional with the ability to apply attention to detail, even whilst working under pressure.
  • Self-motivated, dedicated and takes responsibility with excellent Time Management skills in order to meet deadlines
  • Bilingual with excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Must have own transport and valid code 8 driver’s license.
  • Be physically strong and fit.
  • Will be required to drive a Forklift.

Qualifications:

  • A Matric level of education and be computer literate.
  • Proficient on Excel and Outlook.
  • Prior Supervisor/Manager Experience Essential.
  • Knowledge of RWS In-house system preferred.
